Garden News

All the raised beds in the main garden have been reinforced, the picnic tables repaired, and most of the miscellaneous maintenance items have been checked off the list! We will get some beneficial nematodes added into the soil before adding mulch and planting the garden in a couple of weeks. The past few months of hard work have made the garden seem more beautiful. Every time I walk through it, I am reminded why we started it – to bless families in need with fresh food.

Now that most of the hard work is behind us, it is time to focus on getting some much-needed funding for the garden so we can keep feeding these families. Our Spring Craft Fair & BBQ are sure to bring lots of families to our property. The Garden receives a small fee from each vendor and the Garden also sells items like pepper jelly and loofah sponges. Due to our smaller crowds, we decided to partner with a BBQ vendor to amp this event up just a bit. No, it is not exactly the way you did it in the past, but I hope to make New Hope proud with our smaller version of a Community BBQ. The more tickets we pre-sell, the more customers we will have for our Craft Fair!

We still have plenty of tickets for our Community BBQ Fundraiser - If you would like to assist in selling tickets (or if you would just like to buy some) for this event, please see Jennifer Genzy after worship in the Small Fellowship Hall. The deadline to turn in the money or return unsold tickets is Sunday, April 21st.
